Meet Peter

I’m Peter Buas, a lifelong resident of Ocean City, Maryland, where I grew up and now proudly call home with my wife, Logan, and our son, Spiro. We live on 7th Street, deeply rooted in the community that has shaped who I am today.

As a family man and a committed public servant, I’ve dedicated myself to serving the town I love. My experiences growing up here, raising a family, and building a career in Ocean City have fueled my passion for advocating for the town’s future.

I am running for Mayor to ensure that Ocean City continues to thrive as a safe and vibrant community for both our residents and businesses.

Election Day

The Town of Ocean City is holding the municipal election in conjunction with federal and state elections on Tuesday, November 5^th, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The election will be at the Roland E. Powell Convention Center, 4001 Coastal Highway.

Initiatives I Would Support

Advocate for Quality Growth: As Mayor, I will champion strategic growth in our tourism industry while ensuring Ocean City remains a vibrant and livable community for residents.
Commitment to Cleanliness and Safety: I will prioritize keeping our beaches, boardwalks, and streets clean and safe, ensuring a welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
Fiscal Responsibility: I am dedicated to maintaining a financially sound budget that preserves our low tax rate while investing in the services and infrastructure that benefit our community.
Collaborative Leadership: I believe in fostering participation from residents and businesses, ensuring the Town government provides excellent customer service and that all efforts are aligned with our communityâ€™s shared vision for the future.
Stand & Fight Against Offshore Wind Farms: I will fiercely oppose the installation of offshore wind farms that threaten the stunning views and natural beauty of our coastlineâ€”views that are essential to our economy, our businesses, and our way of life. Ocean City deserves better, and I will lead the fight with our community to protect what makes our town special.
